Town Hall 7am - 7pm

Tina Paul
for Mayor of Surfside 2022
Elected Official of Surfside since March 2016
Together we form a clear vision for protecting our beautiful, cherished community. We achieve this by focusing on what we have in common and what we love about our community with respect for our cultural diversity and rich history as we move forward. We experienced our greatest tragedy as a community and joined together to look out for one another and maintain the peaceful charm of our Town by standing strong for all of Surfside with love.
My parents chose Surfside as the place to raise their children. I was educated at Lehrman Day School, Hebrew Academy, Nautilus and Miami Beach High School. We learned to swim at the community center and played with neighborhood children on our block. Becoming an artist gave me purpose and being a photographer gave me courage and determination to be brave. My political spirit began at an early age as an activist through protests, and as photographer I learned to see things objectively. After graduating Miami Dade College, I went to School of Visual Arts in New York City. Through art, I found a new appreciation for our tranquil surroundings while documenting the changing cityscapes of New York, Miami Beach and Surfside. I remained in New York working as a Photographer in Public Relations, Fashion, Music Culture and Nightlife among the downtown avant-garde community. My business skills formed while working with publishers and clients, establishing alliances with prominent artists and authors.
My return to Surfside was with Arhlene, my partner in life to be with my parents and assist with their daily routines, managing their healthcare in what would become their final years. Those were the most precious, beautiful, important years of my life, combined with sadness of pain and loss, in moments I will cherish forever. I believe the person I am today is from the inherent qualities of both my parents in their righteousness, humility and strength combined with my Life’s lessons. Who we come from and where we come from defines who we are.
I came back to Surfside 10 years ago and found new purpose serving the town as a voice of reason in our current growth phase. My involvement in Historic Preservation supported the designation of 9340 Collins Avenue, The Seaway, and the Collins Avenue Historic District. As an activist I ran for a Commission seat with goals to accomplish more by working on the inside to protect our fragile beach environment. I have a different approach for solving our issues and will always listen to all sides. Having served two terms as a Commissioner for Town of Surfside and currently as Vice Mayor, I ask to continue in genuine service to lead as the next Mayor of Surfside with gratitude for your vote of confidence.
When we work together we all Win!
